Lady Gaga attend ‘A Star Is Born’ photocall during the 75th Venice Film Festival at Sala Casino on August 31, 2018 in Venice, Italy.
I’ve been thinking about Rebecca Humphries and this message most of the day.
Firstly, I think she is a brave woman for speaking out and managing to articulate her feelings eloquently. A break up is horrible at the best of times but to have the UK press talking about it must be awful.
Secondly, I wish someone had told me this when an ex-partner cheated on me. I was also told ‘don’t be silly’, that ‘there’s nothing there’. I too was called ‘mental’ and ‘stupid’ by the man I loved.
A number of times throughout that relationship he asked me ‘how did you know?’ in relation to how he felt about something or when I could guess the exact words he was about to say. It was because I knew him. I could read him like a book and that’s why I knew. Instinct is a wonderful thing and I whole-heartedly agree that we should all trust it.
Thirdly, I feel the real take home message is that you don’t have to let someone else’s actions have power over you and your self esteem and worth. When you do, that’s when you can rise above it all and be free.
